Storyline:
A thousand years ago, a man called Xu Wenwufinds, a mystical weapon that gave immortality and great strength to its users. Wenwu assembled an army of warriors called TheTen Rings and conquered many kingdoms and confronted governments throughout history. In 1996, Wenwu set out in search of the village of Ta Lo, which is said to feed various mythical beasts, to expand its strength. He finds the village entrance, but the village guard, Ying Li, stops him from entering. The two eventually fell in love and had two children, Xu Shang-Chiand Xu Xialing. Wenwu left ten circles and his organization to be with his family. However, Li is eventually killed by Gang Geng, a former opponent of the Ten Rings, and Wenwu once again takes the ring to massacre and continues his criminal activities. Shang-Chi is transported to the Ten Rings complex to be trained in various battles by TheDeath Dealer, a respected Ten Rings member. At the age of 14, Shang-Chi is sent by Wenwu to assassinate the leader of the Iron Gang. After fulfilling his mission, the traumatic Shang-Chi leaves the Ten Rings and flees to the United States, where he uses the name “Shaun”.
Ten years later, Shang-Chi lives in San Francisco and works as a waitress with his good friend Katy Chen. One day while on their way to work in Metro Muni, Shang-Chi and Katy are attacked by members of the Razor Fist-led Ten Rings. Despite their fight, Shang-Chi discovers that the pendant given to him by his mother has been taken by them. Fearing that Ten Rings is chasing Xialing for her pendant, Shang-Chi decides to go after him and reveals his past to Katy, who agrees to help him. They eventually find him at an underground fighting club in Macau, which he owns; Xialing expressed his hatred of Shang-Chi for leaving their family and father for ignoring him.
